These guys offer so many different tour options for things to do at Robinson Crusoe Island its hard to know what's the best. When we did the night culture show, it was amazing and the best show we've seen in Fiji, well worth the trip out and late night. We've also been on the new crab catching and village day trip, this is really cool. On our trip we pulled up four huge mud crabs to our delight. On the island we watched as the chef cooked up fresh crab curry which we all got to try later in the day
All tours to Robinson Crusoe Island start from their own jetty located on the road to Natadola Beach about 40 mins from Nadi town. Resort pick ups start around 4pm for the night show and return about 10.30pm. If you have your own hire car then just drive out to the jetty yourself, there's plenty of parking and it's quite safe.
It's a slow ride but pleasant enough as we navigate our way down river out to the ocean. This part of the journey takes around 30mins. Once in open ocean it's only another 10mins and you'll reach the island. Drinks are served onboard.
If you go on the day trip you'll get to visit the local village. One lucky guest with be the chief for the day. You'll enjoy a kava ceremony and tour around the village. This is a typical Fijian village with a wide lawn centre with houses down each side, a church and hall at the end.
For those on the new mud crab catching day tour you won't be disappointed. The crabs are huge and plentiful. If you're offered the chance to pull the crab pots out yourself, don't say no, it's so much fun bringing them up to see what's inside. The best part is getting to eat the spoils after they have been made into Mud Crab Curry - yummy!
You'll get lunch or dinner or both if you're on the combo tour. Served buffet style there is plenty to choose from. Wouldn't say it's hugely fantastic but filling. There are choices for vegetarians too.
On the day trips they have a lot of activities going including, coconut tree climbing, crab racing, bush walk, snorkelling tour and more. Wouldn't bother doing the snorkelling again, not much to see plus there was a strong current flowing.
Just before dinner join everyone in a beach bomb fire where the boys will entertain you with a few songs. Then onto the fire walking where the boys will walk over hot stones. These stones are covering the lovo underneath for dinner. However it's just the potatoes they cook nothing else.
The night culture show was the best, all the dances were so good and the music was excellent too. Nice to hear they have such a good sound system. The show goes for quite awhile with various different dances then the fire comes out. The boys are really good at doing tricks, great show.
The culture show is only on Monday, Wednesday & Saturday nights. All tours include coach transfers from Nadi, Denarau and the Coral Coast as far as Warwick. Prices valid to 31 March 2017.
